Dear New Itascan,
Welcome to our community! We hope that you will come to know and appreciate the special charm of the town that we all call home.
I would like to take a moment to introduce you to the Itasca Chamber of Commerce. We are an all-volunteer organization of concerned businesses and individuals who have banded together to promote our town and make it as inviting as possible to visitors and residents alike. We are committed to doing all we can to make Itasca the best “Big Little Town” in the state of Texas.
Each year we hold events to promote our town and raise funds for community beautification. Beginning in January, we hold the Annual Chamber Awards Banquet. This is a night to celebrate those persons in our community who give that little extra to make it a better place for us all. Fast forward to the last weekend in June, and you will find downtown Itasca filled with aspiring (and actual) championship Barbecue Cookers at the Annual Itasca Chamber of Commerce Barbecue Cookoff. Come December we celebrate the holiday season with the Christmas Parade. This twilight event includes a spot on Santa’s lap for the little ones as well as lots of shopping opportunities for those of us who have a few more years under our belt.
When you factor in our participation in various other events that we sponsor or participate in, we’re a very busy group. As a Community Member, we count on your support to make the most of every opportunity. As you see a need, let us know. And, please, volunteer to assist us in our projects and join the chamber as an individual or with your business. The more, the merrier, and we can always use your help. This is YOUR Chamber!
